We are looking for a Senior/Lead WordPress Developer to lead a new WordPress team at the QS India Mumbai office. The role will involve developing and maintaining our WordPress websites, used by universities and business schools across the world, to help them to engage with potential students and effectively process and support applicants to their programs.You will have the responsibility for developing and updating both back-end and front-end code and at the same time leading a small team of developers and QAs.You will have web development experience of 5 years or more, with a minimum of three years of WordPress development. You must be a fast learner, able to think on your feet, adapt to change and have good interpersonal skills. You will also be Self-motivated and eager.You will play your part in the development of new products, which will underpin the rapid growth of our business.Skill/attributes Required

• 5 years- experience working as a backend web developer on production sites
• 3+ years- experience working on WordPress sites
• Excellent knowledge of WordPress, OOP PHP, MySQL, CSS, HTML and jQuery
• Expert at developing using WordPress standards
• Developing WordPress plugins and custom functionality
• Experience coding WordPress themes
• Write well-documented code
• Work with Responsive design
• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
• Able to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Use version control software such as SVN or Git
• Working knowledge of XML/JSON and using 3rd party API’s.
• Using Development, Staging, and Production environments
• Ability to scope and estimate technical builds
• Experience leading a small team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working in an agile environment – (Agile & daily Scrums)
• Mentor junior developers

Bonus Skills

• Other MVC Frameworks or CMS knowledge desirable – e.g. Drupal, Symfony
• Experience using Jira for task management/bug tracking
